The name Swan goes back to the 15th century and may be associated with Vintners who kept taverns. The earliest reference to The Swan, Halesworth is in a 1577 Survey. There is an undated reference to a 15th century building which ‘reopened as White Swan’. The Swan is still in business on the London Road.
